Accessibility first

Fully playable with VoiceOver.

Oath & Ash was built for VoiceOver from day one. Blind players test every new version before it ships. What they tell us shapes the game.

  • Calm while VoiceOver is on

While VoiceOver runs, nothing moves on its own. No flying cards, no pop-ups. Numbers jump straight to their new value.

  • Everything is spoken

Every card, every value and every enemy move is read aloud. Enemies show their next move before they make it.

  • No time pressure

There is no timer, in the acts or in the Arena. You play at your own pace.

  • Hear what happens

Narrator Helmut guides you. Every enemy has a voice of its own. You hear when it's your turn, how hard a hit landed and when your health runs low.

  • A battle log you can skim

Each round has its own heading in the battle log. Jump straight to what just happened.

  • Large text and haptics

Larger text, reduced motion and haptic feedback are supported. In Learn the sounds, you can hear every sound and what it means.

Three heroes

Three heroes, three ways to play.

Each hero has their own cards, deck and progress. You start with the Knight.

  • The Knight: short dark hair, steel armor with gold trim, a green cloak and a round bronze shield.

    The Knight

    52 Health · 60 cards · from the start

She builds Armor and answers with counterattacks.

    • Wall: at 10 Armor or more, many cards get stronger.
    • Riposte: when she fully blocks an attack, she strikes back.
  • The Hunter: bearded, in a green hooded cloak, with a bow and a quiver.

    The Hunter

    56 Health · 54 cards · after Act I

He spreads Poison and sets Traps.

    • Poison: hits at the start of each enemy turn and ignores Armor.
    • Traps: each trap springs when the enemy attacks.
  • The Mage: long grey hair, a dark cloak, a staff with an ice crystal in her hand.

    The Mage

    56 Health · 54 cards · after Act II

She builds chains and stacks Frost.

    • Chain: every card you play in a round makes the next one stronger.
    • Frost: enemy attacks get weaker. At 10 Frost, the enemy freezes and loses a turn.

Knight cards

Six of the Knight's sixty cards.

Every card has its own level. Swap cards between deck and reserve, upgrade your best ones and build your deck your way. The texts show level 1.

The journey

A journey in three acts.

Each act has ten encounters, its own enemies and boss fights. You can replay every fight. Every win earns Dust, and sometimes a new card.

  • Painted map of the Thorn Path: a glowing trail winds through deep forest and old ruins up to a castle.

    Act I

    The Thorn Path

Through forest and ruins to the Thorn King. Beat him and the Hunter joins you.

  • Painted map of the Ashlands: a trail leads through burnt hills past glowing craters.

    Act II

    The Ashlands

Embers, ash and new enemies. At the end, the Mage is waiting for you.

  • Painted map of the Sand Sea: a path runs through dunes, rocks and an oasis.

    Act III

    The Sand Sea

Across dunes and rocks to the last act of the journey.

Losing costs you no progress. Change your deck and try again.

Ways to play

More than the acts.

  • Expeditions

Set out with a small deck and build it as you go. Three legs with branching paths and a boss at the end. Each week, everyone plays the same map.

  • The Arena

Duel the saved defense decks of real players. No turn timer. Climb from Starter to Diamond. Challenge friends with an invite link.

  • Something new every day

A daily challenge with its own rules and rewards.

  • The Season Path

Wins, duels and daily battles help you climb. 40 levels of Dust, card boxes, titles, card backs and avatars.

  • Collect and upgrade

Win cards in battle or find them in card boxes. The app shows the odds for each rarity before you open a box. Duplicates turn into Dust.
